Ride to Hannibal on Little Dixie Highway

Otherwise known as the Little Dixie Highway of the Great River Road, Highway 79 runs along the Mississippi River to the hometown of Mark Twain in Hannibal, MO.

While en route to Hannibal, MO, riders will travel through the towns of Louisiana and Clarksville. Small town life and Victorian charm will transport you to simpler times, all while enjoying the open road and fresh air. Clarksville is the perfect location to view Bald Eagles. While viewing season isn't necessarily "riding weather" you might see a Polar Bear and earn some bragging rights! 

Clarksville also hosts Applefest on October 8th & 9th, 2022. Louisiana is known to have the most intact Victorian streetscape in the state of Missouri. Make sure you stop by the Henry Lay Sculpture Park, which is open to the public from April to December.

When you make it to Hannibal, be sure you leave enough time in your day to take a cave tour and take a sightseeing riverboat tour. 

If you get hungry, you'll want to stop at Fat Boys and eat a giant tenderloin sandwich while visiting. Take your time to see the sights along the way, there are several lodging and hotel options in Hannibal if you decide to stay the night.
