New Rider Course

Never ridden before? Want to get your license? The New Rider Course will lead you through the steps to learn to ride a motorcycle and get you on the road.

Successful completion earns the MSF BRC card and in most states a license waiver that gets you a motorcycle endorsement on your license at your state DMV.

No, The curriculum is a building block learning process.

15 ½ years old with a parent signature on waivers. *Parents must sign waivers at the beginning of the first day if participant is under the age of 18

- No, we provide Harley-Davidson motorcycles during the class.

- No, they are real-world Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They have modifications just for the learning environment.

1) Each motorcycle has a protective kit installed that limits damage should the bike fall over

2) a power calibration unit is installed the limits the speed of the motorcycles for the course exercises. 

- Successfully complete the 5-hour self-paced online eCourse within 30 days of your class start date, complete all range exercise, pass the riding skills exam and the written exam.

- The eCourse replaces our classroom session and can easily be completed at your convenience, but within 30 days of the first night of class. Your enrollment email will include details.  The eCourse, takes about 5 hours, and can be paused and resumed.

 - No, we need a printed copy of your eCourse completion certificate.

- No, you will have to start from the beginning and need to pay for the new class.

- While the range and class curriculum are the same, our motorcycles are Harley-Davidsons and our Riding Academy coaches take additional training to provide our students with a memorable Harley-Davidson experience.

- We ride rain or shine; consider bringing rain gear and a change of clothes.

- You may reschedule a class one-time, within our season, if you contact the Riding Academy Manager at least 7-days before the start of your scheduled class.

- You will be required to hold up the weight of the motorcycle when stopped and also move the motorcycle while sitting upon it during an early exercise.

- When you successfully complete our course, the riding/skills evaluation and written exam at the DMV is waived. See the DMV for details. Permits only require a written exam and have riding restrictions

- Check with your local DMV for the most accurate info on what is accepted by your state. For students that are residents outside of Missouri, when successfully passing our class, you will receive a Motorcycle Safety Foundation completion card for the Basic Rider Course.

-  No, we don’t offer a 3-wheel course at this time.

- Yes, Click HERE for more information. 

- No.  There are a number of factors that can affect passing the class.  Occasionally, a student may choose to not continue after discussing their progress with our coaches.  Students also need to demonstrate basic motorcycle control skills during the skills evaluation and pass a written exam at the end of class.

- 10 is the max per class. But 1 coach can teach a class of 6.
